Law Enforcement Requests

How to request customer information during an emergency situation.

Law Enforcement requests for customer information - Hyundai Motor America (HMA)

We're committed to working with law enforcement by disclosing customer information in certain emergency situations.

How to submit your request

The following steps may only be completed by federal, state or local law enforcement officials.

1. Complete the HMA Emergency Request Form (pdf).

2. Call 1-855-225-8354 to speak to an HMA Bluelink® Customer Care representative (available 24/7).

3. During the call, you will be asked to verify your law enforcement credentials, and to attest that an ongoing exigent circumstance exists that needs immediate assistance from HMA.

4. Once a preliminary need for customer information has been determined, we will request the completed HMA Emergency Request Form and will provide an email address where it can be sent.

5. Email the form to the appropriate email address with the words “Exigent Circumstance Request” in the subject line. You MUST send this from your official government or law enforcement email account.

6. HMA will respond to the request in a timely manner, which is dependent on internal processes, technical feasibility of the information to be retrieved, legitimacy of the exigent circumstance, law enforcement verification, and the timeliness of responses from law enforcement.

Please note that the Hyundai vehicle for which data is requested must have its Bluelink capability set to “Active” in order for its telematics to be retrievable.
